A good Second World War Atlantic and Burma service, Korean War and Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal group awarded to Petty Officer Stoker Mechanic R.P. Sole, Royal Navy who saw service during the Second World War where he was present during operations in Atlantic and during the Burma campaign before later serving during the Korean War. He would be awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 4th December 1953 whilst serving aboard the rescue tug H.M.S. Encore.

Reginald Percy Sole was born in Eastry, Kent in 1920 and would join the Royal Navy seeing Second World War service in the Atlantic and in the Bay of Bengal during the Burma Campaign. He would later serve in Korea during the Korean War. He would be awarded the Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 4th December 1953 whilst serving as a Petty Officer Stoker Mechanic aboard H.M.S. Encore.
H.M.S. Encore was a rescue tug completed on 11th May 1945 and would later be assigned for Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service in 1958 and would serve in the Far East before being sold in Singapore in 1967 and renamed Salvaliant.
