Parker, 2nd Battalion, Oxfordshire Light Infantry who having seen service during the Punjab Frontier operations which lasted from 10th June 1897 to 6th April 1898 as well as the operations with the Tirah Field Force would later serve in South Africa during the Boer War where he would participate in operations at the Relief of Kimberley on 15th February 1900 and at Driefontein on 10th March 1900.
