A Good Officers North West Frontier and Indian Mutiny Central Indian and Oude Campaign pair awarded to Lieutenant E. Bradford, 23rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry who would see service on the Northwest Frontier in the 1st Sikh War of 1845 and subsequently in the Indian Mutiny where he would be present in Central India and during the Oude Campaign. Later being attached as a Commissariat Officer during the Yusafzai Campaign of 1863-4, he retired as an Honorary Major General in April 1873.

Evelyn Bradford was born on 8th February 1823 in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal to Edward Bradford and a local Indian lady whose name is unknown. Educated in England, he entered the 14th Native Infantry as an Ensign in 1840, before being promoted to Lieutenant in July 1842. He would go on to serve with the 23rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry and took part in the fighting on the Northwest Frontier in the 1st Sikh War of 1845.
Promoted Captain in April 1854 he would serve in Central India and the Oude campaign during the Indian Mutiny and would subsequently be promoted Major in February 1861 before then being attached as Commissariat Officer during the Yusafzai Campaign of 1863-64. Promoted Lieutenant Colonel in June 1865, Major in September 1866 and Colonel in June 1870 he would retire as an Honorary Major General in April 1873, before passing away on 20th January 1908 from senile decay and heart failure given as the cause of death whilst resident at Holbein House, Sloane Square, South West London.
