A good Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan campaign group to Rifleman G.J. Norsworthy, Royal Green Jackets, later a Lance Corporal with The Rifles who saw service in Northern Ireland during the troubles and would then be present during the operations in Sierra Leone which lasted from 5th May 2000 to 31st July 2002, he would also see service during the peacekeeping duties in Kosovo before taking part in Operation Telic in Iraq and being present during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2012. His final medal entitlement would be earnt in Afghanistan by which time he would be serving with The Rifles as a Lance Corporal, he would also take part in Nato’s ISAF security operations in Afghanistan which sought to train Afghan personnel to provide effective security in the country and to prevent it becoming a safe haven for terrorists.
