William Easson was born in Aboyne near Aberdeen and having enlisted would see service with the 94th Regiment of Foot in the Peninsula during the Peninsula War being present at the battles of Fuentes D’Onor on 5th May 1811, Badajoz from 16th March to 6th April 1812, Salamanca on 22nd July 1812, Vittoria on 21st June 1813, Pyrenees from 25th July to 2nd August 1813, in the battle of Nivelle on 10th November 1813, Nive from 9 to 13th December 1813, Orthes on 27th February 1814 and finally Toulouse on 10th April 1814.
Easson appears as ‘Earson’ on the Noonan’s online roll, but Easson on Mullen’s roll, he is one of 6 men in the British Army, 5 of them belonging to the 94th Regiment of Foot and the other to the 88th Regiment of Foot.
Easson was discharged on 30th December 1818 upon the disbandment of the Regiment.
