Together with the rare original bestowal slip dated 2nd January 1849
John Venable or Venables as he appears on both the roll and the bestowal slip saw service saw service as a Private with the Royal Horse Guards during the Peninsular War and was present during the fighting at Toulouse on 10th April 1814, the last engagement of the war.
He would later be admitted to an out pension at Chelsea on 12th November 1867 and is still noted as being present there in 1875.
