Frederick Jureyeff was born in Calstock, Cornwall on 15th April 1864, and joined the Roya Navy at Devonport on 13th August 1879 state he was an Errand Boy. He would serve aboard 25 shups between 1879 and 1902 and would find himself serving aboard H.M.S. Pique between 15th February 1900 and 9th January 1902 including during the Boxer Rebellion. He would be discharged to pension on 30th May 1902, rejoining on the 31st May 1902 and being transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve on 18th August 1902 serving until the 15th April 1914.
