A good Bombardment of Alexandria, Great War fleet tug 1914-1915 Star trio and Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct group awarded to Chief Petty Officer J.A. Mihell, Royal Navy who saw service at the bombardment of the Alexandria on 11th July 1882 whilst aboard the warship H.M.S. Monarch. Being awarded the Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal whilst serving as a Chief Petty Officer aboard H.M.S. Duke of Wellington on 7th January 1902, he would shortly afterwards be pensioned ashore. He joined the Royal Fleet Reserve on 3rd April 1902 before re-joining the Royal Navy upon the outbreak of the Great War on 2nd August 1914 seeing service aboard the Fleet tug H.M.S. Seahorse up until 10th August 1915 before he returned ashore. He was finally demobilised on 14th August 1919.

James Arthur Mihell was born in Portsea, Hampshire on 1st March 1864 and initially served as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S. St. Vincent from 24th November 1879. Having joined the warship Monarch he then saw service with her in the Mediterranean. With the outbreak of the Egyptian War he took part in the bombardment of Alexandria on 11th July 1882.
He would later receive his Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 7th January 1902, shortly before he was pensioned to shore on 31st March 1902. He would then serve with the Royal Fleet Reserve on 3rd April 1902 before re-joining the Royal Navy upon the outbreak of the Great War on 2nd August 1914. Spending time aboard the fleet tug H.M.S. Seahorse from 21st August 1914 until 10th August 1915 he earned his 1914-1915 Star.
He would be demobilised on 14th August 1919 and later died in Croydon on 3rd January 1953.
