A Good Boer War Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Transvaal operations, Great War service and Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal group awarded to Bugler J.M. Davies, 1st Battalion, Oxfordshire Light Infantry later Corporal, Worcestershire Regiment who was present in South Africa during the Boer War where he he would be present on operations at the Relief of Kimberley on 15th February 1900, in action at Paardeberg on 17th to 26th February 1900, and at Driefontein on 10th March 1900, as well as on operations in the Transvaal. He would receive his Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in an Appendix to Army Order 412 in October 1914 before going on to see Great War service as a Corporal in the Worcestershire Regiment.

John M. Davis saw service as a Bugler (No. 5101) with the 1st Battalion, Oxfordshire Light Infantry during the Boer War in South Africa where he would be present on operations at the Relief of Kimberley on 15th February 1900, in action at Paardeberg on 17th to 26th February 1900, and at Driefontein on 10th March 1900, as well as on operations in the Transvaal. He would go on to receive his Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with Gratuity in an Appendix to Army Order 412 in October 1914 whilst he was serving with the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
Davis would subsequently see service as a Corporal (No. 41695) with the Worcestershire Regiment during the Great War.
