Millar Wyllie saw service as a Private, later Serjeant (No. 1380 later No. 265225) with the 6th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders – Territorial Force arriving in France on 1st May 1915. He would be Mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette of 24th May 1918 and subsequently awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 11th February 1919 both of these being for actions in France.
The Gazette of 11th February 1919 carried awards for the Battle of Amiens from 8th August to 3rd September 1918.
