Awarded to Wing Commander (No.5204410X) G.H.B. Sugden, Royal Air Force, who transferred as a Flying Officer from the Marine Branch to the Security Branch on 10th May 1984, and saw service as a Flight Lieutenant during the First Gulf War of 1990 to 1991, being in support of the operations and quite possibly based in Cyprus. Sugden later transferred to the General Duties Branch, and was then promoted to Wing Commander in the Administrative Branch on 7th January 2003, before retiring at his own request on 30th September 2006.
