Dewhurst, Farnborough Brigade, who joined the brigade in January 1937 and was still serving in October 1961 when he received the British Fire Services Association Medal in Silver for Twenty Years Service.
Fire Brigade Long Service Medal, EIIR bust; (LDG. FIREMAN WILLIAM A. DEWHURST); British Fire Services Association Medal in Silver for Twenty Years Service; (W.A. DEWHURST); National Fire Brigades Association Bronze Medal for Ten Years Service, rim officially numbered: ‘15727’ and additionally engraved: ‘WILLIAM A. DEWHURST’.

William Ashley Dewhurst enrolled into the National Fire Brigades Association which later became the British Fire Services Association in January 1937 as a Fireman with the Farnborough Fire Brigade. Dewhurst is confirmed as having been awarded the National Fire Brigades Association Bronze Medal for Ten Years Service with rim numbered: ‘15727’ in November 1949, and was then awarded the British Fire Services Association Medal in Silver for Twenty Years Service on 10th October 1961, having also become entitled to the Fire Brigade Long Service Medal, by which time he was a Leading Fireman with the Farnborough Brigade.
