Andrews, 1st Battalion, 20th Regiment of Foot (East Devonshire) who was present in Crimea during the Crimean War including during the siege of Sebastopol which lasted from 11th September 1854 until 9th September 1855 as well as being present in India during the Indian Mutiny where he would take part in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November 1857 until March 1858.

Robert Andrews saw service as a Private (No. 4089) in the 1st Battalion, 20th Regiment of Foot (East Devonshire) and would be present in Crimea during the Crimean War including during the siege of Sebastopol which lasted from 11th September 1854 to 9th September 1855. He would also later see service in India during the Indian Mutiny including in the operations around Lucknow which lasted from November 1857 until March 1858. He would be present at Goruckpore at the time of the 1861 census.
