Gibson, Middlesex Regiment who saw service in South Africa during the Boer War before later serving on the Western Front from 18th January 1915, he would go on to be awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 13th May 1918 and is noted as having at one time served with the Gold Coast Regiment in West Africa.

Charles W. Gibson saw service as a Private (No. 6847) with the 3rd Battalion, Middlesex Regiment in South Africa during the Boer War, and would later serve on the Western Front from 18th January 1915 as a Sergeant and later Colour Sergeant (No L/6847).
Gibson was awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 13th May 1918 and is also noted as having seen service with the Gold Coast Regiment in West Africa and would have seen home service during the Second World War.
