A 1914 Star and bar trio awarded to Private B.J. Sharpe, Rifle Brigade, later King’s Royal Rifle Corps who saw service on the Western Front from 18th August 1914, and would be discharged due to wounds on 2nd May 1919. He would then be noted as a Porter with the Transport for London and a Police Constable with the Port of London Authority.

Bela Jacob Sharpe joined the Rifle Brigade on 1st May 1908 he landed in France with the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade on 18th August 1914 and saw service as a Private (No. 2800). He would later transfer to the King’s Royal Rifle Corps with whom he saw service as a Private (No. 56256). He would later be discharged due to wounds on 2nd May 1919.
He would then noted as a Porter with the Transport for London but resigned in August 1919. The 1939 Register notes him as a Police Constable with the Port of London Authority . He died in Essex on 23rd September 1974.
