1914 Star trio awarded to Private W.H. Hooper, 9th Battalion, London Regiment – Queen Victoria’s Rifles, later Captain, 4/7th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment who served on the Western Front from 4th November 1914 before being commissioned on 25th August 1915.

W.H. Hooper initially saw service as a Private (No. 1864) with the 1st/9th Battalion, London Regiment – Queen Victoria’s Rifles on the Western Front from 4th November 1914 and would subsequently commissioned into the 4th/7th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment on 25th August 1915, he would be appointed a Lieutenant in 7th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment on 1st July 1917 and would then be appointed a Captain with the Machine Gun Corps on 9th March 1918.
