1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Private later Lance Corporal B. Hazell, Royal Marine Light Infantry who joining up on 14th August 1893 then saw over 25 years service, received a hurt certificate on 10th February 1915 for having broken his hip.

Benjamin Hazell was born in Bethnal Green, London and giving his trade as a Cabinet Maker and saw service with the Portsmouth Division of the Royal Marine Light Infantry from 14th August 1893 and would still be serving at the time of the Great War. On 10th February 1915 he would receive a hurt certificate on 10th February 1915 for having broken his hip. He would be promoted to Lance Corporal on 17th May 1917 and would revert to Private on 14th March 1919. His papers note him as having died 7th December 1954.
