Cecil S. Davis saw service as an Orderly with the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John of Jerusalem on the Western Front from 28th July 1915 before later seeing service as a Private (No. 55006) with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, two separate Medal Index Cards confirming the details. It appears the recipient was issued two pairs in addition to his 1914-1915 Star, one under the British Red Cross Society and Order of St. John of Jerusalem and another under the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. The medals possibly split up amongst family members at a later date.
