1914-1915 Star trio awarded to F.H. Hyde, Boy Servant, later Officer’s Steward 3rd Class F.H. Hyde, Royal Navy who saw service aboard the Trawler H.M.T. Wallington, a boom defence vessel during the Great War.

Frederick Horace Hyde was born in Kentish Town on 28th October 1898 and giving his trade as a call boy, joined up on 25th May 1915, he would see initially serve ashore as a Boy Servant, and would go on to serve aboard H.M.S. Mars, and H.M.T. Wallington. A Grimsby Trawler that acting as a boom defence vessel during the Great War. He would be appointed Officer’s Steward 3rd Class on his eighteenth birthday, and would later serve aboard H.M.S. Dido, being discharged on 16th June 1917.
Hyde was invalided on 16th June 1917.
