1914-1915 Star awarded to Sepoy Nawab Khan, 1st Battalion, 89th Punjabis who was killed in action during the Relief of Kut Al Amara on 20th March 1916, his regiment, having fought with great distinction, was almost wiped out in the battles to relieve the besieged garrison town.

Sepoy (No. 2976) Nawab Khan, 1st Battalion, 89th Punjabis was killed in action on on 20th March 1916 and is noted as the son of Nawab Khan of Mohri Bhangial, Rawalpindi, Punjab. He is now remembered on the Basra Memorial.
