1914-1915 Star awarded to Plumber’s Mate W.W. Leadbitter, Royal Navy who joined the Royal Navy for the duration of hostilities on 14th June 1915. Serving aboard H.M.S. Black Prince from 4th November 1915 until 22nd February 1916, he would then return ashore eventually being discharged on 11th March 1919.

Walter William Leadbitter was born in Kensington, London and joined the Royal Navy for the duration of hostilities on 14th June 1915,
Serving as a Plumber’s Mate (No. M.13782), his only service at sea would be aboard H.M.S. Black Prince from 4th November 1915 until 22nd February 1916. The ship would later be sunk at the Battle of Jutland on 1st June 1916 but by this time Leadbitter would be back serving ashore.
He was discharged as a Plumber on 11th March 1919.
