1914-1915 Star awarded to Gunner E. Aldrich, ‘R’ Battery, Royal Horse Artillery who saw service in Egypt and then later in France where he was attached to both the 29th Anti-Aircraft Section and the 45th Anti-Aircraft Section, Royal Horse Artillery, suffering a nervous breakdown on 27th February 1917 and being admitted to Etaples General Hospital. He would subsequently travel to India, and was finally discharged on 30th May 1919

Ernest Fitzgerald Aldrich enlisted on 29th July 1914 and saw action from 10th March 1915 with ‘R’ Battery, Royal Horse Artillery. He would then suffer a compound fracture of the right leg due to a horse kick at Ismaila, Egypt from 15th February 1915. He would later serve in France with 29th Anti-Aircraft Section and 45th Anti-Aircraft Section, Royal Horse Arillery, suffering a trivial contusion to the elbow whilst playing football on 18th February 1917, and then just nine days later, he would suffer a nervous breakdown and would enter the General Hospital in Etaples, France on 27th February 1917.
Subsequently travelling to India he would suffer recurring bouts of Malaria during 1917 and he would later be discharged on 30th May 1919.
Additionally entitled to a British War Medal, Victory Medal and Silver War Badge.
